Job Description

GEICO's Controller Department is seeking a bright, hard-working candidate to help the company report financial transactions accurately and timely as we continue to grow. The Controller Department plays a critical role in reporting financial results for the company in addition to monitoring daily operations from our policy, billing, and claims applications. This analyst role gives associates a broad view of the business by exposing them to many different areas and allowing them to work with various groups throughout the company. The selected applicant will work with and present to a variety of business and technical areas at all levels of management. Due to these responsibilities, outstanding verbal and written communication skills are essential. This role also requires the ability to think creatively and learn quickly. Above all, the candidate should be self-motivated with the desire to learn and adapt as new challenges arise. The responsibilities include:

• Understanding system flows and interfaces
• Participating in project planning, development, and implementation
• Testing in our non-Production environments, documenting problems, and creating corrective action plans
• Monitoring Production controls and assisting with reconciliations
• Analyzing transactions and extracting valuable information from large quantities of data
• Fulfilling data requests for internal and external customers



Candidate Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•  The ability to learn quickly and think creatively
• Bachelor’s degree with a quantitative or business background, accounting experience is a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with database applications such as MS Access and SQL Server
