Key Position Details
Geico's Portland Staff Counsel Office is seeking a litigation attorney with 1-2 years’ experience in personal injury litigation or 4 years litigation experience in Oregon.  Must be licensed to practice law in Oregon and have a comprehensive knowledge of the Oregon Rules of Civil Procedure and Oregon rules of evidence.  Position requires the attorney to have the necessary experience to immediately assume mature files and be prepared to try multiple jury trials. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, writing, analytical and computer skills.  Spanish speaking and WA licensed a plus.  Salary and grade level commensurate with experience.
Essential functions: Research and prepare legal brief and opinions.  Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery.  Travel is required, including but not limited, to attend depositions, trials, hearings, trial readiness and settlement conferences.  Requires ability to think on your feet, analyze the case file material and articulate case strategy.
